Are You Air Layering?

If you want an exact copy of a plant the best way to get it is to air layer.  Many times we like the leaf colorings or a particular characteristic of a plant and would like more plants just like it.  However, buying seeds or using cuttings does not always ensure the same exact coloring or marking that you want.   The only way to get those particular characteristics is by air layering.  With air layering you are actually creating a clone of the mature tree.

Growing plants from seeds takes a long time, and using cuttings also can take a long time.  With air layering, you get a sizable plant with a full root ball,  in about two months time.  Many plants can be air layered and you can have many air layered branches of the same tree at the same time.  It is also a great method to use for plants that are difficult to root.
