Some of the immediate methods are coming out to the garden late at night with a searchlight to find them and physically pick them off the plants, or sprinkle salt on the slugs and around the pots and plants. This is tedious and tiring, especially after working in the garden during the day.
However, there are other methods that can be used to catch more at one time, and some can be described as a set it up and leave it to check in the morning. This is definitely the best kind.
