Sometimes it can be a difficult decision for a gardener. To plant from seeds or get seedlings or cuttings. Some gardeners much prefer to start their plants from seeds, and in some cases start the seeds indoors. This is especially beneficial when dealing with changing seasons. Some nights are definitely too cold for the seeds to germinate or very young plants to withstand the cold weather.
There is also the joy and excitement to watch as the seed comes to life. When dealing with seeds that you have started indoors, you can easily determine the healthier small plants and transplant those. No need for thinning out later.
